A man who lives a few houses down the street from me has taken up the habit of playing trumpet on his porch every evening at around this time. My neighborhood is relatively quiet, allowing you to hear it from blocks away. Every evening as I head home, the trumpet gets louder the closer I get to my apartment.

I love this city.
